Call to Action!
We wanted to identify just a few ways that you can continue to support the AAPI community everyday.
From something simple such as signing up for newsletters to keep up with AAPI issues, telling your local library to order more books by AAPI authors, sharing posts from AAPI creators, to buying from AAPI-owned businesses, there are so many ways to show support and solidarity. Scroll through for some great ideas on how to start. ➡️
We encourage you to look up AAPI-owned businesses in your community and spread the word. Try that new boba tea place, read a new book by an AAPI-author, or donate to an AAPI organization!
In my 5 years living in Los Angeles, I’ve found some of my favorite spots. Below are specifically Filipino owned restaurants I love:
@mybsweet @gobigboi @ubebabysilverlake @l.a.rosecafe @spoonandporkla @theparksfinest @nerisflipfix
Direct links to places you can donate:
@stopaapihate @aaldef @advancing_justice_atl @napawf @aapiwomenlead @kiwa4justice @pwcsc
Bystander training: @ihollagram
Some of my own favorite AAPI owned online businesses:
@marharlika @brwngrlz @jahzz.art @hi.socialbutterfly @marahuyo.co
If you have any favorite online shops or Los Angeles/California AAPI owned businesses or organizations to donate to, drop them below so I can spend my stimulus $$ on ’em 👇🏼
